New York Fashion Week 2018

I’m so excited to share with you my experience and some of the outfits of my first New York Fashion Week. I’ve been to New York a few times but never for Fashion Week, if I thought that this city was intense before I found out that when you visit for Fashion Week it is 10x more intense than anything you could imagine!  I stayed in SOHO, which is an amazing location, most of the shows are close by and the neighborhood is great for “street style” pictures.  I truly recommend you come to SOHO during your stay in NYC. It wasn't as cold as I thought it was going to be, especially due to the fact that is was February but you still need to have a good coat.  Pack light but warm, you’ll get a workout from running around.

I was really impressed by all the diversity of styles that you get to see from people attending the shows it was very inspirational. Of course attending the shows was amazing, I got to attend shows from some emerging designers and I attended big name shows such as Claudia Li, Romeo Hunte, Yajun and my favorite... Alice and Olivia.

When it came to choosing my outfits for fashion week, I really wanted something that would impress. I went online and took some inspo from current trends and from previous fashion weeks. The styles I chose  were from Topshop, Zara and from one of my favorite vintage store What Goes Around Comes Around NY.

See my looks from NYFW and how I styled them below and where to shop them.

What to Wear for Derby

This weekend I got to attend The Pegasus World Cup horse racing at Miami Gulfstream Park! It was my first time at a horse race so I was beyond excited and off course was more excited to look for what to wear for this event. I always go to Pinterest and get some outfit inspo so I can more or less have an idea for what I want to go for. I seen that people usually for derby go for dresses or skirts and you could not leave out the iconic derby hats that come in very interesting designs.

Since is Miami and not the Kentucky derby I decided to go for a more simple black hat that I got in Revolve. For my outfit I decided on a vintage Chanel and shorts from What Goes Around Comes Around NYC and added a military jacket from Seta Apparel. For shoes i thought this Bruno Magli Pumps match perfect.

What to Wear for Polo

Miami Beach Polo 2018

Had so much fun this weekend at the Miami Beach polo. It was my first time at a polo event so really had a difficult time on putting my outfits together, especially because it was at the beach. So when I was looking for my outfits decided to go for like a summer style (long skirts, crop tops, long dresses, culottes and sandals). Got some info from Pinterest and went for the hunt for my looks in some of my favorite brands: Revolve & Seta Apparel. When I got my summer polo outfits together I didn't expected that the weather in Miami was gonna be so cold so this made me do a little twist on the final looks but at the end all work out perfectly! One of my mayor changes was instead of sandals I decided to wear boots and I was thinking to myself how i can wear this high boots without looking like I'm the one who is going to ride a horse LOL!

First Look:

Decided to layer my outfit with a turtle neck, white button shirt and a Seta Apparel military jacket. For bottoms I always tend to go for denim and this destroyed culotte jeans work out perfectly. I paired it with high top boots from Sam Edelman, a fanny pack purse from Weat and couldn't leave out my favorite cabby hat from zara.

Second Look:

For my second look I decided to go for this crop top and long skirt set from Revolve. Added an edgy touch with a pair of high boots (which i change later for pumps from Bruno Magli) and a leather jacket for the cold. Also to make it more polo style I added a boater hat from Lulus.

Coachella Style

Day 1:

My experience at Coachella was amazing but being a first timer also teach me many things. First better fly to Palm Springs airport than to LA airport, I made that mistake and when we got to the airport our hotel was 3 hours alway, Yes 3 F$&kn hours to the desert!!!!! We thought like oh well there should be a shuttle since the hotel is that far, well there was but was $200 dollars!! LIKE WHAT??? So that wasn't an option since it was basically buying another plain ticket so we decided to rent a car and was the best decision. It was super cheap and instead of going straight to the hotel we did a LA kind of tour since it was my first time in Cali. After we drove to the Hotel which was amazing we stayed at the Westin Desert Willow villas which was very convenient since the Coachella shuttle that takes you to the festival stoped exactly by our lobby. The next day was our first day at Coachella and I learn two things The desert is HOOOOOOT AF and heels are not your best friend. I was basically the only person wearing leather pants lol but wathever they looked so fab and actually a lot of people complement me on my outfit :)

Day 2:

This day we decided to leave a little be later like at 3 to the festival since the first day we were sweating like pigs because the sun from 12pm-3pm is basically an oven, so that time was perfect. We took some pictures with the most amazing sun light because the California sky is rare to find a cloud so lightning is GOALS! We walk around ate pizza almost everyday, pretty bad. They had told me the food there was good but we didn't have a good experience with it and was also kind of expensive, $13 dollars for a mini burger with NO fries!!!  Yes NO FRIES how dare they!!! And $10 for one scoop of ice cream, how sad! What do you do with one scoop of ice cream! But overall was a great day we ride the wheel and the view was amazing, recommend to ride it day 1 or 2 because day 3 the line is the worst. Also Lady Gaga sang that day so the show was pretty dope.

 Day 3:

That day when you wake up and you can't anymore with life! Well that was my third day I was already exhausted since you need to walk a lifetime literally just to get from point A to B and add the heels to the equation! My feet were swollen like two potatoes but off course it was my last outfit so I had to be fab and had bought this fab high boots just for Coachella so I had to wear them. So I sucked it up and keep going lol. We got that day a little earlier than the day before and we enter not by the shuttle entrance but by the car entrance and realize that they had lockers, damn if i knew that the days before would had brought my change shoes. Also another good thing they have is a few stations were they have plugs were you can charge your phone. Well overall that day we were really tired we saw a couple artist, took pictures and call it a day! Coachella is a must go and I'm looking forward for next year!
