Malibu Road Trip

FullSizeRender.jpg

I’ve always wanted to do a road trip where I drive on the California coast. Finally, during this trip to LA I got the chance to do it by driving to Malibu! It’s fascinating how Malibu is just one hour away from LA but it is a totally different world, it’s a paradise. The drive on the Pacific Coast has the most amazing views and you will in awe of how scenic it is.

There are a lot of fun things to do in Malibu like the Malibu Wine safari that I posted in my previous blog. During this trip to California, I was limited on time so I just went to Malibu for a day, this meant that I had to make the most of it! Our first stop was the Malibu Cafe which is very popular, I recoment making a reservation before going. It’s a great location to go for lunch and the food is delicious. I had the burger, which is a must and the shrimp tacos, everything was very tasty. At the Malibu Cafe, they, also, have different activities to entertain you before, after, or while you dine. For example they have giant table games, lake boat rides and live music.

Our second stop was at Matador Beach. I know I might have said this before but this is the most beautiful beach I have ever been to! It was a relief to find that Matador beach is totally different than Miami’s beaches, not that there’s anything wrong but it’s nice to feel away from home when you travel. Matador beach has beautiful, huge rocks across the beach creating the perfect setting to watch the sunset. Beware... the water is super cold!

Moonshadows restaurant for  dinner, a reservation is, also, recommended. Like most of the restaurants in Malibu, the menu mostly consisted of seafood. This restaurant has an amazing ocean view and the food is just as great. Moonshadows is a great spot for an afternoon of drinks and great music.

Malibu Wine Safari

Wanted to share with you guys my awesome experience at Malibu Wine Safari! I always wanted to go and finally decide to do a road trip there while I was in LA.

The Wine farm is located in Malibu, a one hour drive from Los Angeles, but worth it! The drive is very scenic and breathtaking, you get to see the most beautiful views of the Pacific Coast.

During the Safari you can either hike or take the safari cars, both different experiences. If you pick the cars you drive around the farm and had wine tasting at every station you stop. While the hiking you only do wine tasting at the end but you get to see some hidden gems of the property.

I highly recommend anyone to reserve the safari tour in advance, they are usually always booked.

They main attraction is this handsome guy named Stanley! He is the sweetest, and he is actually a retired actor (no joke). Stanley has appeared in several movies including "The Hangover 3". He is 10 years old and has his one Instagram account: @a_giraffe_named_stanley

Not only do you see giraffes but, also zebras, llamas, donkeys & other animals. You get the chance tofeed them all. They are super friendly & fatty.

At the end of the tour you get to relax and enjoy a wine tasting session with selected wines from the farm. Defintely worth the go, it’s great to go with a group of friends is super fun! They also clebrate birthdays, bachelorettes and wedding at the property. The farm is privately own by a family and all the staff are super nice and fun. I really enjoy the wine tasting, the wine is amazing and it’s all made at the farm.

Your guide to Tulum

Tulum you stole my heart! It was the first time visiting Tulum and by far it was one of the most magical places I have ever been, I would go back a million times if I could. It is truly a paradise, whether your paradise includes relaxation or a great party scene there’s something for everyone.
Posada Margherita Quick tip on how to get to Tulum: Tulum is almost two hours away from Cancun and so you need to plan for transportation. Easiest way to get there is to take a flight to Cancun, I was traveling from Miami and it was only an 1hr and 15min flight. Knowing that we would still have to travel a couple of hours, we had reserved a van to drive us to our destination. The van was waiting for us at the airport, it was easy and convenient, especially since I travelled in a group.

Where to Stay:

Traveling with a group can be a lot of fun. When it came to deciding where to stay we decided that together was the best way for us, so we decided to stay in an apartment.
If you decide that an apartment would not work for your trip, don’t fret, Tulum has the most amazing hotels. This trip was a one-off, I don’t usually travel in big groups, but when planning for my next trip I will definitely consider the following hotels to book, my top 5:

-AZULIK

-NOMADE

-AHAU TULUM

-COCO TULUM

-BE TULUM

Where to Eat:

Tulum like many places has amazing food but what’s great about eating in Tulum is that there’s restaurants for every type of taste. Here are some of the restaurants that my tastebuds fell in love with.

Posada Margherita: Sea food- Italian restaurant, great for lunch or dinner. It’s, also, a great spot for drinks! This location allows you to relax and enjoy the scenic background, the beach. It’s, also, a small hotel were you can stay.

Nomade Tulum: I went for dinner but the hotel is so beautiful that I recommend going during the day. They offer tasty Seafood and Mexican food but trying their amazing margaritas is a must!

Arca: Mexican cuisine, great for dinner. Must try the Grilled Cornish Hen and the mezcal negroni cocktail.

Be Tulum: It’s also a hotel and the location will have you seeing one of the most amazing views since it’s by the beach, it’s the perfect location to have lunch.

*Highly recommend to make reservations before your trip!

Where to have drinks and party:

Gitano: Amazing music, drinks and party. One of my favorite places to go after dinner.

Casa Jaguar: The ambient is great and it has a great party scene.  This location always has a dj on-sight, really good deep house music.

Papaya Playa: Look no further for a great beach party. They provide great music and drinks, go at any time during day or night.

Boa Tulum: Beautiful place by the beach and it’s a great spot to have lunch and a beach day party.

Touristic Activities:

The Cenotes:

Cenotes are beautiful natural caves and you can find different ones around Tulum. I went to one called Cenote Escondido, but the one you really need to go to is the Grand Cenote that will be on my bucket list next time I go.

Miami tour with Fujifilm Instax

Miami is always so much fun, but much funner when you get to experienced it with the most amazing people from around the U.S. Thanks to Fujifilm Instax I got to capture and take home the best moments and memories that I experienced with blogger babes from NY, Utah and Palm Beach who came to the sunny city for a weekend full of good food, swim fashion and city tour.

IMG_8115.JPG

We had an amazing weekend that started checking at the Mondrian Hotel , then dinner at Mediterranean restaurant Byblos, which food couldn't be more delicious and finally we got to enjoy some swim runway shows. Next day we got up really early got glam by Laced Hair and had a fitting with Isabelle Rose Swim for our looks for the boat sailing adventure! We had an amazing time, off course Miami weather was super bipolar and we got a crazy storm during the boat ride but that didn't stop us of having fun and taking great pictures! That day we had a yummy dinner at STK and got to experienced first row swim wear runways! Our last day we spended taking picures at the cool walls of wywoond with our favorite photographer Patricio Roldan  who recorded all our Miami tour experience! Check out the beautiful memories I Photographed with Fujifilm Instax:
